These women manufacture rice paper from their home near Cu Chi. Cooking the batter, above, is more difficult than it looks: we mangled several pieces when she let us try it ourselves.

The woman to the right is laying out the fresh batches to dry in the sun. The shrinking drying sheets make loud crackling noises until they're dry, which takes from 30 minutes to over two hours depending on the heat and humidity.
