This woman, who runs a tourist boat with her husband, is preparing to tie up at a dock on the Mekong Delta. We walked up the narrow wooden dock through a hundred yards of trees standing in the water to reach a longan plantation, where we ate a fresh fruit lunch under a thatched roof while being entertained by local musicians.

This boat, and many others like it, operate out of the delta city of Mytho, an hour's drive from Saigon.
