The photo above shows the place where poor Hindus cremate their dead along the Brahmaputra River in Kathmandu. You can cremate anybody here, just bring a body and some wood and do the deed.
The photo to the right is a short distance upstream, and is where Hindus with money cremate their dead. It's right in front of Pashupatinath, the largest Hindu temple in Kathmandu. Wood is purchased from designated vendors here, and bodies are burned in the spot to the right of center where a recent cremation has just been washed away into the holy Brahmaputra. The corpse under the white sheet is on deck, and the one under the red sheet will follow that one.
