This is all that remains of the Harbour Oaks Inn in Pass Christian.
Owners Diane and Tony Brugger tried to stay here during the storm, but as the building disintegrated they wound up stranded in one of the oak trees in the background, and then Tony was swept away. Diane survived, and has now moved to St. Louis.
The small plaque at the top of the steps was apparently left by her in memory of Tony.
